CBCT Imaging

Your Experience begins with a quality CBCT scan. Whether you send your patients to Crystal Imaging for the scan or your patient is scanned from another source, Van Hook Dental Studio employs the most experienced radiology technicians in Arizona to assist you with the scanning process and can help you upload your Dicom files to us for processing. Our technicians are familiar with most of the major CBCT systems that are currently being used, so we can advise your technicians on settings and proper scanning protocols, such as Dual Scanning for your fully edentulous patients. Contact us through Crystal Imaging for any of your CBCT scanning needs.

Diagnostic Planning

Once we have processed your CBCT data in special treatment planning software, we will add a complete prosthetic diagnostic work-up to the images (from your pre-op models) to provide you with all of the diagnostic information that you will need for accurate and a complete virtual treatment plan. One of our technical experts will then assist you with your treatment plan and prepare a virtual plan for you and your surgical specialist to review through a web meeting.

Web Meeting

A web meeting is set-up with the surgical specialist, restorative dentist and a laboratory technical consultant. During this meeting you will be able to see all of the vital areas of your patient, such as major nerve canals, sinus areas, bone volume and quality. You will also be able to see the virtual wax-up of the prosthetics to see how the implant positions can support the proposed new dentition. This is vital information to identify important factors such as screw access holes, amount of bone reduction, and the length of the prosthesis.  Analyzing this data can also help to determine if immediate loading is a possibility or if further surgical procedures may be necessary. Van Hook Dental Studio provides this service to you without any capital investment to you for software.

We will provide you with a report, which includes a complete analysis of each implant site or you can choose a viewer file that you can manipulate to see each view for yourself.

Surgical Guide Options

Once the Virtual Treatment Plan is finalized, we will discuss your surgical guide options. Van Hook Dental Studio offers any guide option that your surgical specialist will need to ensure a predictable and ideal outcome.

Model Based Trough Guide

This is the most common guide for immediate load situations that we make. This type of guide, made from a clear duplicate of the provisional restoration, gives your surgical specialist the ideal prosthetic guidelines for bone reduction, buccal-lingual angulation, and basic implant positions all based on the digital treatment plan.

Pilot Guide

This type of guide is made from a steriolithograph process. This type of guide is site specific and will guide your pilot drills to the exact positions that were planned in the software. The rest of the drilling protocols and the implant placement is then completed using conventional protocols.

Full Guided Surgery

Fully guided surgery for immediate load cases has become a popular option for even the most experienced surgical specialists. This type of guide gives the surgical specialist complete control of both depth control and angulation for each drill as well as depth control for the placement of the implant (some implant companies don’t have implant depth control at this time, we can advise you on the implant systems that support this feature). Van Hook Dental Studio can assist you with ensuring that you have the proper instrumentation needed to complete this type of surgery. Guided surgery is available (in most situations) for both fully and partially edentulous patients that are undergoing full immediate loading procedures.
